Cubicles and Drugs Part One

The first piece of my novel-in-the-making. This story features a cubicle worker named Carl and a Mexican gang, all set in Dallas (Note: it's under construction currently, so there are a couple changes, such as the fact that at the beginning the story takes place in Denver.)

Mortician StoryShadows flickered in the corners as he bent over the body. The man was young and was handsome, even in death. Thin strands of blonde hair fell over the man's face, obscuring his eyes. Mortimer liked them that way, for the eyes of dead men always gave him the shivers.
Mortimer had done his best to straighten out the cringing features of the man, ease the tense wrinkles and move the man's arms down to his side. However, even the cleverest mortician could not hide the fact that this man's death had been violent and untimely. Cubicles and Drugs Part 35About a year later, I sat at my desk, filing out a sheet of paper. It was another rape/murder case. Why did these things always land on my desk? I hated dealing with the private lives of people and prodding around the insides of the deceased. I most of all hated the motives which drew these sick, fifty year old perverts to rape innocent virgins. It saddened me to my very core.

Ha Ha...new story...

Ha...About that new story...well screw it. THat new story, the one I uploaded the first and only piece of, is crap. So I'm moving on. However, I've been reading Stephen King's little book about writing and I've decided to take his advice on something. None of you shall see anything of my new story till its first draft is complete. THen I will open it up for critique and advice.

I'm not doing this to be...lame. I'm doing this because, no offense, I felt kind of beat down when submitting CaD to DA. The advist whilst I was writing was not useful to me, and I have no need for it and I'll probably forget about it and scrap it. But thanks anyways, you commented out of the good of your hearts. No, I'm doing this because I think that by shutting out the story to everyone but me that I can focus on it and not the other...shtuff you guys bring up. By doing this, I can probably end up with a much better story, if what Mr. King says is true.

So thanks, I'll post the story when the draft is completed. So don't expect anything from me for some little while.
